Getting Michigan To Work: ePrize is Growing and Hiring.

Posted by Melissa Summers on Friday, January 20, 2012 in News & Announcements

Michigan Governor JobsEarlier this week Michigan Governor Rick Snyder gave the State of the State address and, as expected, the Governor zeroed in on economic growth and Michigan jobs. From the speech:

"We made large strides to make Michigan great again," Snyder said. "Michiganders came together and worked with relentless positive action to deliver the meaningful change that is getting our state back on its feet. Thanks to the leadership of our legislative partners, we've taken bold but thoughtful action to do what's right for Michigan. We're getting it right and getting it done. But this is no time to let up. Job One is still jobs. Ensuring bright, prosperous futures for working families and their children demands a steadfast commitment to Michigan's reinvention."

Michigan is making strides: the unemployment rate fell from 11.1% in December 2010 to 9.3% in December 2011, bringing it to the lowest rate since October 2008. Michigan also added nearly 80,000 private-sector jobs last year and these jobs are higher paying than the national average.

Here at ePrize we're seeing Michgan's recovery first hand. Between 2010 and 2011 we increased our number of employees by 30%. Between 2011 and 2012 we added 85 new team members and grew our workforce by 25%. We expect to have 420 employees by the end of 2012, including 16 from our new Cellit team.

Matt Wise, recently explained why ePrize is headquartered in Michigan and will stay in Michigan. This video is part of a series produced for Pure Michigan making the case for working, doing business and living in Michigan. You can see all the videos here and watch us in action below.
