Mobile Marketing: We've acquired Cellit!

Posted by Melissa Summers on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in News & Announcements

It's all over the news; ePrize announced today we've acquired Cellit; a mobile solutions company out of Chicago. Cellit's expertise in SMS, mobile-optimized sites and mobile applications positions us to capture the growing mobile marketing trend.

From our CEO, Matt Wise:

"Rapid consumer adoption of mobile technology is fundamentally changing how brands engage and inform the public about new products and services. MMA Global reported that 83 percent of mobile users take their phones with them everywhere; and CTIA reports that 74 million people in the U.S. have opted in to text messages from marketers. Brands with a mobile component in their campaign have a huge opportunity to capture consumers wherever they are and whenever they're ready."

Not only is this great news for our clients helping them to grab the ever-expanding mobile market; it's great news for Detroit.

Tom Walsh at the Detroit Free Press covered the news this morning. Some highlights:

"Matt Wise, CEO of ePrize, says the Cellit purchase will help drive growth of 25% in ePrize revenue to around $70 million this year. ePrize expects to add 80 or 85 jobs this year, on top of 80 added in 2011,'and the vast majority of them are here in Detroit,' Wise says....

For a city and state where people are constantly bemoaning the loss of young talent and jobs to Chicago, Boston or Silicon Valley, it's a welcome twist to see a Detroit outfit doing the growing and acquiring"

Crain's LogoCrain's Detroit Business is also talking about our big news:

"The deal adds 450 clients to ePrize's roster, bringing the total to about 1,000.

'That's a pretty dramatic uptick for us,' ePrize CEO Matt Wise told Crain's.

EPrize is seeing clients move their marketing campaigns, including customer loyalty and coupons, from websites to mobile devices, which is what has been driving the company to make mobile its central business.

Eighty percent of client campaigns are expected to use some type of mobile component this year, up from 20 percent last year, the company said."

Welcome Cellit: ePrize Mobile Solutions!
